When I was corresponding with one of the parents to share her birth story on my website, she replied saying that she did not have a drug free birth – as though that had been a criteria in the first place!
This is the same mother who wrote to me after giving birth sharing how attending the Four Trimester's HypnoBirthing classes has saved her relationship with her husband and this gave them something to work at and with – as a couple. She further mentioned that by attending this course together, it allowed them to kick start the recovery process of their marriage!
Another mom wrote in saying "Birth stories should be based on uniqueness or learning value of the story, and not accuracy of events."
I fully agree.
I always tell parents in my first class that my aim as a Doula and a HypnoBirthing practitioner is to facilitate these parents-to-be to have their best birth ever.
If they do have a drug free birth, that is a bonus. Facilitating them to work together as couples, enabling them with information and tools to prepare for the birth of their baby, is a journey itself and this sets the pace for conscious parenting, and raising individuals to be safe, secure, loved and confident beings.
It is not the destination that matters, it is who we become, and who we need to become to reach our destination – something I take home with me after attending Anthony Robbin's Date with Destiny seminar in April 2007
And the universe conspires with me on this.
This evening, when I was having a one-on-one hypnotherapy session with one of my Doula mom's – using Hypnotherapy to release all her birthing fears and future pacing her birth imagery – she cited Catherine's
birth story and shared how reading the birth story provided her with a sense of inspiration and hope on how it can be the same for her for her second birth.
The hypnotherapy session was so wonderful, so much healing took place that there is no doubt in my mind that this Doula Mom is going to get her completed healing once she births her baby! There is only one way
she is going to birth her baby, and she know it. She has seen, felt, embodied those feelings, emotions and images in her mind tonight during the hypnotherapy session.
So what is the true essence of your birth story?
Share it with us as it may touched more hearts than you would realise – just as Catherine's birth story did for my Doula Mom.
