2018: Attended DONA Birth Doula Workshop & Spinning Babies Workshop
2018: Attended DONA Postpartum Doula Workshop
My own traumatic birth experience has led me down this path as a Doula.
I feel that society has forgotten how powerful a
Mother can be and that birth is magical. I want to remind
women just how badass we are and that giving birth should be
our greatest achievement, not fear.
I ♥ being a Doula because...
. I want to remind women just how badass
we are and that giving birth should be our
greatest achievement, not fear.
"Giving birth and being born brings us into the essence of creation, where the human spirit is courageous and bold and the body, a miracle of wisdom." - Harriette Hartigan
My appreciation for my own courage as a woman truly evolved through my own traumatic birth experience which led me to the light of becoming a Doula. I was forced into having a c-section and both my husband and I felt very lost and confused. After 15 hours of labour, we made a tough decision to switch Doctors at the eleventh hour. Shortly after, our beautiful daughter, Larah, was born! That moment when we finally met her, was a magical one and I want to be able to protect that experience for parents!
As a Doula, I hold the space for Mothers and their partners, identifying what they are needing most, guiding them and helping them unleash that innate strength from within towards the birth that they desire. To show them the innate power they have aligned with the knowledge to remove the noise from the outside world that can limit our true self.
I support couples as they evolve from partners to parents, helping them understand the dynamic shift in their roles now that baby has come along. Extending that support to parents beyond their birth and through the critical moments when baby goes home, I am truly passionate about ensuring their postpartum journey to parenthood is a wonderful foundation for the experiences ahead.
I feel that society has forgotten how powerful a Mother can be and feel the calling to empower women to truly appreciate just how powerful a force we are and that giving birth should be our greatest achievement and not our greatest fear. I hope to share my wisdom with the pure intention of empowering women from all walks of life towards the birth they truly desire and to help prepare them for the wonderful journey ahead.
And a little about me personally, A lucky mother to baby Larah, wife to a wonderful husband, an opportunist and a macramé lover. My philosophy in life is; anything that annoys you, is teaching you patience, anything you can't control is teaching you how to let go and anything that angers you is teaching you love and compassion. Let go a little and learn to laugh at yourself!
