I am married with a 16-year-old son. I am working towards leaving a legacy for shifting the paradigm of birth and opening Singapore’s first Birth Centre. I nurture my creative side through dance, phone photography, belly painting and developing my STAR persona. I enjoy outdoor sports and traveling. I devour biographies and books on neurology, psychology and spirituality. You can read more about me here.
I ♥ being a Doula because
“The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother and a father (over and over again with each birth), and I love facilitating the journey of these parents as the human spirit unfolds and blossoms through pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester.”
My own journey as an unwed mother for 15 years before getting married — and having to think out of the box to survive — made me realize the importance of empowering women and their families to make informed choices that are right for them and to enhance mother-baby and family bonding. Motherhood also taught me to prioritize what is important in life and to live my life’s calling.
Fortunately, I have a positive rebel persona where I thrive in areas that have yet to be explored. This enables me to work towards my vision of improving maternity care in Singapore and around the world. I love teaching, facilitating and public speaking so I really enjoy my work.
Truth to be told, I love the oxytocin rush of my life’s calling!
“I only want to open up the way to insight, acting as its midwife: it is up to every person to give birth.” – Deepak Chopra
“Giving birth is your superpower just as it’s a baby’s innate superpower to know what to do when you place them on the mother’s chest. They will instinctively look for the breast. Feeling whole is also your superpower. My role is to cut out the noise obscuring what you are already know innately.” – Ginny Phang
