Birth Doula Packages

It is our pleasure to serve you in this joyous journey. Using our knowledge and experience, we will support you emotionally and physically during your pregnancy, labor and postnatal period, in whatever choices you make. We will provide the necessary information to enable you to make informed choices. We strive to ensure a positive birth experience and we maintain complete confidentiality of details relating to your pregnancy and birth. As we are independent and self-employed, we will be working for you, not for your care provider or hospital. However, we also strive to work well as a team with the medical staff. We do not perform clinical tasks, make decisions for you or give medical advice.

Every client has access to our team of doulas. Clients may either choose whom they prefer as their primary doula or allow us to assign whom we feel would be a good fit. Your primary doula is the person that you first contact when you are in labor. If for any reason you are unable to contact them, or they cannot be with you, please contact our Doula Coordinator at +65-96644565.

  • • We require that you have ‘Whatsapp’ downloaded on your smart phone as we will set up a group chat between your partner, yourself and your team of Doulas. You are encouraged to communicate with the team through the whatsapp group chat set up for you as it enables communication to be clear and transparent. We will close this group chat within 6 weeks of you giving birth.
  • From the time you decide to engage doula services, you may contact us via email, SMS/Whatsapp group chat and/or call to ask us any questions and remain in contact.
  • We will arrange prenatal visits in accordance with the doula package that you have purchased.
  • Each prenatal visit is scheduled for two hours at your home or your preferred location.
  • It would be helpful if both you and your partner can be there for one or all of the prenatal visits. We will answer questions and make suggestions over the phone any time before labor begins.
  • During these prenatal visit(s), the doula will:
    • discuss your preferences and options for the prenatal period, during birth, and postnatal period.
    • give you suggestions on what needs to be done to help you have the kind of birth that you want.
    • discuss the birth preferences and your personal information.
    • go through your birth plan.
    • explain and sign our contract.
    • go over the role and scope of a doula and how your she will to support you throughout
    • review the HypnoBirthing & Spinning Babies techniques
    • discuss the common signs of early labor and when and how to contact her.
    • check the logistical set-up for a homebirth or home water birth.
    • in case of transfer to the hospital, when to go to the hospital and what to expect when at the hospital.
    • review your hospital bag.
    • demonstrate hand-expression of the breasts.
    • answer any other questions that you and your partner may have.

The presence of a doula lifts the sole responsibility of the labor off the shoulders of your partner, allowing them to enjoy the whole birth process. We can help your partner to feel calm and informed and give them ideas to continue support from beginning to end. At no time will we “take over” or deliberately exclude your partner. We are there to provide support to both of you at all times. Sometimes a partner likes to stay by the mother’s side during the whole of labor, while others prefer to take a break. This is your birth experience and it is important that you feel free to make decisions accordingly.

  • We will be on call for you 24 hours a day beginning three (3) weeks before the estimated due date (EDD) up until labor begins. This means that we will carry our handphones with us at all times, and in the event that we are unavailable during this period, your secondary doula will be on call for you.
  • We will provide early labor support as requested, including in your home. Should labor be slow to start, we might go home and wait until you call.
  • We will remain with you once active labor has begun until one to two hours after your baby is born, or as per your preference.
  • We may take short breaks for meals and rest if time allows – this will be discussed with you at the time and we will not leave you if it is inappropriate.
  • We may utilise non-medical support techniques for labor and birth and can provide reassurance and perspective to you, make suggestions to help labor progress, and help with hypnosis techniques, relaxation, massage, spinning babies, and other techniques for comfort and/or to enable labor to progress.
  • We will strive to maintain a calm and peaceful birth environment to support you and partner in getting the birth that you want.
  • We take pride in working well with the medical team present at your birth.

  • The first postnatal visit is scheduled a day after the birth to ensure that the baby is breastfeeding well, as well as to debrief the birth. Assuming that all goes well from the first postnatal visit to the second postnatal visit, the second postnatal is scheduled when the milk comes in between day 3-5. Please note that all postnatal visits are scheduled according to how both you and your baby are doing. Sometimes the visits take place on consecutive days instead of being spaced apart, depending on the situation. Additional visits are charged at $180 per visit. We will also take the weight of the baby using our portable scale at every visit.
    • Each postnatal visit is scheduled for an hour and it takes place at your preferred choice of location.
    • If you choose not to utilise some/all of your postnatal visits within sixty (60) days of your birth, the remaining postnatal visits will be forfeited.
    • We will assist in providing information and supplying emotional support by telephone on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care after the birth, as requested.
    • Please contact us if you have any concerns. If we cannot help, we make every effort to find the appropriate person who can.
    • We will help to initiate the breastfeeding process, if that is what you choose to do. Please note, we are not lactation consultants, but will refer you to one if you need it. If you wish to bottle feed your baby, we will help you with the first feeding.
    • A written birth log and photos (if any) will be emailed to you within 4 weeks of your birth.

  • You will be asked to complete a birth plan and discuss this with your doctor.
  • You will take a tour your birth facility.
  • You will call us when you think you may be in labor, even if you are not sure, so that we may make arrangements to attend your birth.
  • You will allow us approximately one hour to reach you.
  • Postpartum Doula Only: You will notify us when you have given birth so we can arrange for the first postnatal visit.

  • We will schedule postnatal visits with you depending on the package that you have signed up for, usually within two to fourteen days of the birth. We will answer any questions or give you a referral to the proper professional that can meet your needs. Follow-up visits can then be arranged if desired.

My first child was born just over two months after we arrived in Singapore and attending the excellent Four Trimesters antenatal class was the best birth preparation I could have wished for. My partner and I wanted to know what choices would be available to us during labour and – having heard lots of my friends’ birth horror stories over the years – I didn’t want to be at the mercy of modern medicine and only able to react to whatever happened to me. We both wanted to have a voice that would be respected in our baby’s birth and the course gave us the knowledge to ensure this happened. It was highly informative, almost encyclopaedic, and included different learning formats some of which lent themselves to many funny moments (learning the sills of breast massage on a balloon!) It was hosted in the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of Ginny’s home with refreshments available so I and the other participants felt truly looked after. It was in stark contrast to the antenatal class I attended at one of the hospitals where we were told what would be happening to us ‘you will have an episiotomy… you will have an epidural’ and where the classes were ‘light’ on the information I wanted but very comprehensive on the consumption side of childbirth e.g. the assortment of aromatherapy oils available, food menu options and the importance of candlelit dinners during pregnancy!!!

In a phrase, I’d say the Four Trimesters course is the ‘thinking person’s antenatal class’.

We had such an amazing HypnoBirthing experience all thanks to the Four Trimesters HypnoBirthing classes and detailed advice on support strategy. It was the most valuable investment we have made to welcome our daughter to the world in best way possible, enjoying the wonderful babymoon and start of breastfeeding!!! We are filled with gratitude <3 – Sayuri and Geoffroy

Although I initially had not intended to attend the Four Trimesters Fourth Trimester Breastfeeding class, I decided to do so after being very impressed with Ginny’s style of teaching the Four Trimesters HypnoBirthing classes. Now that I’ve finally weaned after extended breastfeeding, I look back and realise how HUGELY valuable it was to my very successful and gratifying breastfeeding experience. It gave me the confidence I needed to know exactly what to do from the moment my child was born. I have compared my own birth and breastfeeding experience with those of my peers and trace much of my good start and continued commitment to the classes. None of the books gave us the tips that this class did. I honestly believe that this was so valuable that every parent should attend these classes. We didn’t know how valuable it would prove then however looking back, it was the best investment ever!
I was so impressed with the Four Trimesters HypnoBirthing & Fourth Trimester classes that I have and will continue to recommend it to anyone growing a baby.
