It is my passion to serve families with information and support to nurture their minds, bodies and spirits. Every family deserves to have a meaningful birth experience that resonates with who they truly are. My work as a doula is to provide informational support to help them get there. Pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood are things that cannot be learned from a book; they are natural transformations that come from within us. I love being a doula because I am constantly amazed by the power of human nature.

Caring and professional
We first came across Four Trimesters when we were looking for an antenatal course to prepare for the birth of our daughter. My sister had benefitted greatly from attending the Four Trimesters classes, as well as from having Ginny assist her during her own labour, and insisted that we check out the Four Trimesters website and Facebook page. The information we found seemed new-agey (for lack of a better term), but we found that it made sense and were sufficiently intrigued enough to sign up for the antenatal course.
Over 6 weeks, doulas Ginny and Janelle conducted classes that covered the pregnancy and birth journey. We found the content to be carefully curated and relevant to the issues we were still researching, and were very happy to receive insights into topics that we did not know even existed. Of great significance were the classes which focused on pre-birth preparation. The exercises during the class allowed us to crystalize our vision of an ideal birthing experience, and gave us something to work towards.
After completing the classes, we decided to engage a Four Trimesters doula, and thankfully Janelle was willing and able to help. The labour was intense and stretched on for close to 24 hours, and Janelle was a pillar of support every step of the way. She coordinated with the hospital staff on our behalf, and we felt at ease knowing that she was on top of things. Not having to wonder what was going on allowed us to fully concentrate on the birth. She provided emotional (and at times, physical) support, and helped my wife achieve her dream birthing experience: a natural birth, without pain relief and with only a tiny surface perineal tear. Janelle’s presence during the labour made all the difference, and we are so thankful that we were able to just enjoy the process and welcome our little bundle of joy.
The Four Trimesters doulas armed us with the relevant knowledge, and enabled us to plan for and achieve our ideal birthing experience. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking to do the same. We found them to be pleasant, e, and hope you will benefit from their experience like we did.

Luckiest person in the world
I feel like the luckiest person in the world to know you as a friend and to also know you as my Doula. Before you, I had no idea what a Doula was, we (Nick and I) just knew you were “basically having a baby every month” and was always on call. Little did we know the impact you would have and the experience that came with it.
Our prenatal visits were professional yet fun – however you always brought us back to our purpose and to stay as prepared as possible.
The labor, from what I recall – was not possible without you (or Nick). Your voice of reason and calm, your massages and hands on techniques are indescribable. Support – doesn’t begin to describe what you were for me that day. I had never put so much trust in someone outside of our own family unit and with that, it kept me confident and secure. I can keep writing in detail what happened but you know what I mean and how I feel.
Your post partum visits were above and beyond your call of duty, for that, I am forever grateful. I truly believe you are one of the reasons why I had success at breastfeeding and why I never gave up (even when I really wanted to). I never thought this day would come that I would truly enjoy breastfeeding. I think little Ryker is grateful because he is reaping all the benefits!
I know that you are trained by the best in Singapore but no one can teach you passion, love, and dedication.
Being pregnant in Singapore was daunting; no family, no familiar doctors or medical system, lots of stories- both good and bad. I knew I wanted to give natural childbirth a go, but didn’t really know what that meant and wasn’t sure I could accomplish it here.
Luckily, I found Four Trimesters. The immense knowledge that they shared during the Prenatal Classes on pregnancy, child birth and postnatal care, allowed me to feel in control of the entire pre and postnatal period and most importantly, make the best decisions possible for me and my new baby.
In addition to the knowledge I was learning from the classes, I was also benefiting from the support of my doula Janelle. To be honest I was not super thrilled about sharing personal, physical details with anyone, let alone a stranger. But somehow Janelle managed to find her way in and the next thing I knew I was in what seemed like constant contact with her asking her a million questions.
When the big day came, I felt confident, prepared and the entire birth went absolutely seamless, something I credit 100% to Janelle and her continuous support, coaching and confidence in me. I couldn’t imagine going through pregnancy and childbirth without her!
