I remember being told as a student, that being a midwife requires you to work with your heart, your head, and your hands. With your heart, you show compassion for the people you work with. You are together during such an important part of a couple’s life, you cannot not feel an emotional connection. With your head, you are constantly thinking. Keeping all your knowledge and experience at hand, watching out for things to go south, offer information where needed.. Lastly, you use your hands to work with women. A gentle touch, a helping hand…

I have worked in Europe and I have worked in Africa. Now life has brought me to Asia as the next step of my journey and here, as a doula, I want to continue this work. I want to step away from the medical aspect of birthing, the atmosphere of hospitals, the paperwork… and focus again on what is really important: the couple birthing with you. Two people who love each other so much that they want to bring a new human being into the world.

I won’t say that I love my job because to me it is so much more than a job.

This is my passion.
